Unfamiliar Destiny Encounters

1–2 minutes

||Rhema for the Week||

“But the servant replied, ‘Look, in this town there is a man of God; he is highly respected, and everything he says comes true. Let’s go there now. Perhaps he will tell us what way to take.”
1 Samuel 9:6 (KJV)

There are moments in life that seem ordinary but carry the weight of destiny. Saul thought he was just looking for his father’s lost donkeys, but God was leading him to something far greater. The turning point? A simple suggestion from his servant. This passage reminds us that divine direction does not always come with fanfare. It may not arrive through a booming voice from heaven or a dramatic miracle. Often, it is wrapped in humility, delivered through familiar or “unimpressive” people, and it takes discernment to recognize it.

The servant didn’t only have the suggestion; he also had the necessary offering in hand to honor the custom of approaching a man of God. In other words, he didn’t just speak inspiration, he carried provision. This tells us that when God sends divine help, it often comes complete with direction and supply.

How many times have we missed divine opportunities because the message didn’t come through a source we deemed credible or important? The key is humility. Saul’s destiny shifted because he listened. He didn’t dismiss the voice because of the status of the speaker.

This week, may we be sensitive to the seemingly ordinary suggestions and encounters that carry extraordinary direction. May we not despise the voice God chooses to use. And may we always have the humility to follow divine nudges, even when they come from unexpected places.
