Salvation 2025 | Day 22
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” — Acts 4:12
often wonder how we, as believers, can boldly receive salvation and claim our identity in Christ, yet live far beneath all that salvation truly offers. The word “salvation” in Greek is “Soteria” — a rich, multi-dimensional word that means deliverance, preservation, safety, and even future salvation. It is not a one-time experience but a continuous reality meant to be lived in every aspect of our lives. The New Testament often uses the Greek word “Sozo” when referring to salvation from sin. But Sozo is more than just forgiveness . It means to be saved, rescued, preserved, healed, and delivered from danger and destruction. It is a complete package of wholeness: spirit, soul, and body.
When people repent and believe in Jesus as Lord, they experienced “Sozo.” The penalty of sin was lifted, but more than that, they stepped into divine protection, healing, and wholeness. So if the finished work of Christ brought about “Sozo,” why do we still believe that misfortune, tragedy, and sickness are somehow sent by God to teach us lessons? That mindset completely undermines the purpose of Christ’s suffering.
Before He went to the cross, Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed (Acts 10:38). If that was His nature before the cross, why would it change after He paid the ultimate price? In fact, His death and resurrection were meant to amplify what He began in His earthly ministry. He even said, “It is better that I go,” so that the Holy Spirit — our Helper, Advocate, and Teacher could come dwell within us. That was not a downgrade. It was the upgrade.
We are not called to settle for partial living when the finished work offers us full life. To accept salvation and yet live as though nothing really changed is to make His sacrifice seem insufficient. But it was sufficient. It is complete. And through “Sozo,” we are called to live in the fullness of what Christ died to give us.
