The Miracle Life: Get Used to Your New Nature

2–3 minutes

Salvation 2025 | Day 24

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.” — Ephesians 5:8 NIV

Paul in his letter to the church in Ephesus reminds us of the radical transformation that takes place through salvation. It does not say we were once in darkness. It says we were once darkness itself. That was our identity — completely separated from the life of God. But now, through Christ, we are not just touched by light or surrounded by it. We have become light in the Lord. This is the miracle of the finished work of Christ: we do not merely undergo a change. We become new.

Salvation is not a self-improvement program. It is not about polishing up our past or making us slightly better versions of ourselves. It is the birth of a completely new life. The old has passed away, and the new has come. This new life brings with it an entirely different way of thinking, speaking, perceiving, and responding to the world around us. What the world calls strange or overly spiritual is, in fact, the original design. Living by the Spirit is not an exception to the rule of human life. It is the true rule by which we were meant to live all along.

So when things in your life begin to shift, do not be alarmed. When your desires begin to change, when your appetite for sin fades, and when the things that once thrilled you no longer satisfy, do not pull back. This is not something to fear or to hide. It is not abnormal or exaggerated. It is the evidence of your new nature. It is the light of Christ breaking through your thoughts, words, and actions.

In this miracle life, God is not merely walking beside you. He is working within you. He is giving you both the will and the ability to do what pleases Him. This internal transformation is not forced. It is divine. As your habits begin to align with heaven and your reactions begin to resemble those of Christ, recognize it for what it is: your real nature coming to the surface. There is no need to suppress this change simply because it feels unfamiliar. You are not pretending to be someone you are not. You are, in fact, becoming who you truly are. Light has no reason to apologize for shining. In the same way, you have no reason to downplay what God is doing in your life.

Get used to being light. Walk in it boldly. Embrace the miracle life, and live it with full confidence. It is not hype. It is not emotionalism. It is not pretense. This is your new reality. This is who you now are in Christ.
