Empowered to Live

Salvation 2025 | Day 30

“For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.” — Romans 8:13 (NKJV)

Salvation is not just a moment—it is a walk. And that walk requires power beyond human effort. Unfortunately, many believers struggle with sin not because they don’t love God, but because they try to fight in their own strength.

But Scripture is clear: “By the Spirit,” we put to death the deeds of the flesh. This means that victory over sin is not about willpower but rather about surrender. It is also not about trying harder but yielding deeper.

The Holy Spirit doesn’t just save us; He empowers us to live like we’re saved. He produces fruit in us (love, peace, patience…) and gives strength to say no to the old self we once were. Without the Holy Spirit, Christianity becomes a performance, but with Him, it becomes transformation.

Maybe you have been trying to please God by your own effort. It’s about time to stop striving and start surrendering. God did not save you so you could struggle alone. Rather, He gave you His Spirit so you could walk in power by depending on Him daily.

It is about time you invited Him into your moments of weakness; ask Him to strengthen your will, renew your desires, and reshape your heart. Remember: you were never meant to live this life by yourself. “It is not by might nor by power but by My Spirit,” says the Lord (Zechariah 4:6).

Walking in the Spirit means cultivating intimacy with God through prayer, listening to His Word, responding to conviction, and leaning on Him moment by moment. The Spirit is not just your Helper; He is your strength to live victoriously.
