“A word from the Lord to you in this year is that heaven has already spoken. God’s will is settled, His promises are complete, and His purposes for you are not delayed by time. This year is not about striving harder, but aligning deeper. You will be victorious!” – Benny Boateng

“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10 (KJV)
When Jesus taught His disciples to pray, He revealed something profound about how heaven and earth interact. Prayer is not merely a request for provision. It is an invitation for alignment. “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven” assumes that God’s will already exists in heaven, complete and perfect, but must be manifested within time and space on the earth. Ephesians 1:13 clearly states that we have been blessed with spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, proving that all we need has been given and captured in the finished work of Christ.
From the beginning, God instituted time when He created the sun, moon, and stars to mark days, seasons, and years (Genesis 1:14). Time became the framework within which humanity would live, receive, and steward God’s purposes. Scripture reveals two dimensions of time in the Greek (Chronos and Kairos). Chronos is sequential and measurable. Kairos is opportune and decisive. Though time is finite, God works within it without being limited by it, because He is infinite. God’s works are eternal, yet He subjects their manifestation to time because humanity can only receive within time.
The spiritual realm is not bound by past, present, and future. In Christ, all blessings already exist in heavenly places. This means time does not rob the believer. What God has finished eternally can be accessed temporally. Even lost years are not beyond redemption, for as long as the sun and moon remain, restoration is possible. God Himself declares that He restores years (Joel 2:25). The believer therefore is not helpless before time. Through faith, prayer, and obedience, we draw eternal realities into the present. This is why prayer matters. Prayer is how heaven’s completed will enters earth’s unfolding story.
To understand this, Scripture reveals that three expressions of will operate under the sun. First is the sovereign will of God. This will is absolute, independent, and unchallenged. In creation, God did not consult anyone. He spoke, and it was so. Redemption itself was conceived before the foundation of the world. Jesus declared that He came to do the will of the Father, not to negotiate it. God also dispenses mercy according to His own will, without obligation or apology. His sovereign will cannot be overruled.
Second is the will of angels. Angels are not passive beings. They act, contend, and execute assignments. Scripture shows that fallen angels exercised will through pride and rebellion, while faithful angels contend to fulfill divine instructions. Daniel’s delayed answer reveals that angelic resistance can affect earthly timing, though never God’s ultimate purpose. Angelic will operates under authority, but it is real and active within spiritual warfare.
Third is the will of man. Humanity was created with genuine choice. From Eden onward, Scripture consistently shows that human decisions carry weight. Pharaoh resisted God’s command. Prophets chose to watch and pray. Elijah prayed earnestly, and the heavens responded. God does not violate the human will, even when His purposes are at stake. Instead, He invites cooperation. This is where many misunderstand destiny. Blessings, prophecies, and divine assignments do not fail because God is weak. They are often delayed or resisted because the interplay between human will and spiritual opposition has not been rightly engaged. God’s will is settled in heaven, but it must be contended for on earth.
Hezekiah’s life reveals this mystery. A prophetic word from the Lord to Isaiah declared his death, yet through prayer and alignment, time was extended. Daniel’s breakthrough came not because God had not answered, but because persistence in prayer aligned earthly will with heavenly release. These accounts reveal that prayer is not informing God, but enforcing what He has already spoken. If you can pray this year, you can capture every reality and prophecy concerning your life in this year.
As we step into 2026, this truth calls us into responsibility, not fear. No year surrendered to God is wasted. No timing missed is beyond restoration. God is able to compress eternity into a moment and redeem what seems lost. The believer’s role is to believe, contend, and faithfully seek Him. Pray with understanding. Align your will with God’s. Stand in faith. Heaven has already spoken. Earth is waiting for agreement.
