“Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer…”
– Isaiah 53:10a
God’s good intention for the world is that all people would seek Him and find Him, for He is not far from any one of us. As Scripture reminds us, “In Him we live and move and have our being.” God desires that humanity would truly know Him. This is why Scripture urges us to intercede for others, because it is God’s will that all people come to the knowledge of the truth.
God’s good intention is often expressed through people. We are the carriers of His purpose, the vessels through which His intentions are made visible to the world. This becomes evident when our everyday lives, our 24 hours, our time at work, our moments with family, reflect a prioritization of God’s purposes over worldly pursuits.
This calls us to examine ourselves honestly. We must ask: Does what I am pursuing reflect God’s good intention for the world, or something else? Even when obedience feels costly or uncomfortable, when it feels like it might “crush” us, God is always at work, fulfilling a greater purpose through our surrender.
Our influence on the world should be shaped by God’s heart and His intention for humanity. God places us in specific spaces and seasons with purpose, inviting us to live for Him—even in the most ordinary moments of life. Therefore, in whatever we do, we are called to bear witness to God’s goodness and to who He is.
Let us continually ask ourselves whether our actions, thoughts, and words reflect what God is doing, what He cares about, and ultimately, whether they align with God’s good intention for the world.
