||Rhema for the Week||
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins… but because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions. It is by grace you have been saved.” – Ephesians 2:1, 4–5 NIV
As I was reflecting on the goodness of the Lord and His presence during the Salvation Conference with Pastor Johnny, I opened up about how young people sometimes feel inadequate to share their testimony because of the little scars we carry. In response, Pastor Johnny said something striking: “We were all dead, and it does not matter how dead you were. Every death is death, but Jesus brought us back to life.”
For many young believers who grew up in Christian homes, it can feel like our testimonies are not dramatic enough. We may compare ourselves to those who were pulled out of deep darkness and think our story is less powerful. But salvation is not about how dark the past was. It is about how bright grace shines when Jesus brings us from death to life.
Dead is dead. Whether your story carries visible scars or quiet moments of conviction, the miracle remains the same. Christ raised you from spiritual death to eternal life. There is no small testimony in the Kingdom. Every testimony reveals the power of the same Savior. It is the Holy Spirit who convicts and transforms hearts, not the intensity of the past.
This week, give thanks for your testimony. Celebrate the grace that found you and the life that now lives in you. Let your story point to Jesus, the one who conquered death and gave you life.
