Returning to the Place of Prayer

Beloved in Christ,

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

It has pleased the Lord that, after ten years of His remarkable faithfulness, Keys of the Kingdom (KOK) will commemorate this milestone by returning to the very foundation upon which this ministry was birthed: The Concept of Prayer.

For a decade, the Lord has graciously entrusted us with the ministry of bringing divine illumination to the Scriptures, unveiling spiritual concepts, strengthening believers in their walk with Christ, and proclaiming the glorious salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ. Every lesson, article, study, and conference has stood as a testimony to His faithfulness. We stand today not because of human wisdom, but because God has continually sustained this ministry by His Spirit.

Yet, as we enter KOK’s tenth anniversary this July, we discern a fresh invitation from the Lord.

The increasing weight of spiritual activity in our generation demands a people who not only understand truth, but also know how to prevail in prayer. The times call for believers who are rooted in communion with God, discerning in the Spirit, steadfast in faith, and mature in their fellowship with Christ. We believe the Lord is calling His Church back to the place where strength is found, where destinies are shaped, where heaven governs the earth, and where hearts are continually aligned with His will.

It is therefore fitting that we return to prayer.

This is deeply significant for us because KOK itself was birthed through the Concept of Prayer nuggets. Before there were conferences, discipleship, mentorship, or missions initiatives, there was a burden to understand prayer as God intended it. Looking back over these ten years, we believe the Lord is calling us once again to revisit that foundation, not merely to repeat what we once learned, but to receive fresh understanding for the season before us.

The truth remains that there is very little a believer can accomplish apart from prayer. Prayer is not simply another Christian discipline to be practiced occasionally. It is the atmosphere in which the believer was created to live. Throughout Scripture, communion with God has always preceded divine purpose. Before there was ministry, there was fellowship. Before there was assignment, there was communion. Before there was power, there was prayer.

Sadly, prayer is also one of the most misunderstood subjects in the Body of Christ. Many have inherited practices without understanding biblical principles. Others have reduced prayer to making requests, measuring it by how long or how loudly one prays. Still others have become discouraged because they have never been taught its true nature and purpose. Yet prayer is far more than a religious exercise. It is the believer’s participation in the life of God. It is the restoration of Eden. It is communion with the Father. It is partnership with heaven for the establishment of God’s will on the earth.

Throughout this month, we will prayerfully search the Scriptures together. We will journey from Genesis to Christ, tracing God’s original design for prayer through the law of first mention, the tabernacle, the ministry of Jesus, and the indwelling work of the Holy Spirit. Our desire is not merely to teach methods of prayer, but to recover the theology of prayer, so that we may understand why we pray before learning how we pray.

Our prayer is that spiritual understanding will replace confusion, conviction will replace routine, and communion will replace performance. We trust that as the Word illuminates our hearts, we will learn to appropriate prayer as our very nature requires.

My earnest appeal to you is simple: journey with us. Set aside time each day. Search the Scriptures. Respond when we call the Body to prayer. Allow the Holy Spirit to reshape your understanding and rekindle your fellowship with the Father.

May this month not merely increase our knowledge of prayer, but restore us to the place of communion from which every work of God truly begins.

The Concept of Prayer: Travailing, Prophecies, and Miracles

May the Lord revive His Church. May He awaken the altar once again. And may we become a people who not only speak about prayer, but who continually live in the presence of God.

Grace and peace,
